We are a dedicated collective of St. Johns residents committed to fostering deep engagement and bold activism. Our focus is on empowering every neighbor—homeowners, renters, and unhoused individuals—to advocate for their community and address local issues with collective strength.
Why We Oppose the ESD
Unfair Fees: Extra costs for neighbors and small local shops that place an unnecessary burden on our community-led economy.
Displacement Risk: Risk of increased policing and surveillance that leads to the threat and displacement of unhoused neighbors.
No Control: Lack of real community accountability and public control over how these private funds are collected and spent.
Better Choices: True investment in community-led safety and care programs that support all residents without exclusion.
ESD fees are a tax on working people. It is taxation without representation.
